Bastards & Bloodlines: A Guidebook to Halfbreeds
A Races of Renown Sourcebook for the d20 System
Written by Owen K.C. Stephens
Cover by James Ryman
112 pages, perfect bound
MSRP: $19.95
March 2003

The d20 core rules let you play half-orcs and half-elves, but why stop there? Bastards & Bloodlines gives you nearly 30 new half-races to play, including half-trolls, half-nagas, half-giants, and even half-umber hulks! Over a dozen new templates, including half-medusas and half-beholders, add even more options to the mix. As if that wasn't enough, Bastards & Bloodlines also offers players new feats (including "bloodline" feats), new spells, and prestige classes like the Brood Warrior and the Changeling.

Designed by noted Star Wars and Everquest author Owen K.C. Stephens, Bastards & Bloodlines is a rules toolkit that opens new realms of possibility for your d20 campaign.

I wonder if "Bastards & Bloodlines" (you gotta love a book with the name Bastards) will have an accompanying Interlink tome from Paradigm? And if so, what???

I'll give GR this they put out some good quality stuff that is downright useful. The pocket series is fantastic, the hammer and helm book was awesome. The B&B and PG:M will be on my next buy list for sure!

Keep us posted on the great books!

I agree that the pocket books are great and downright useful. I'm hoping that the Ultimate books from Mongoose are just as useful. I'm looking forward to picking up my copy of UPC vol. 1 one of these days.

Hey I happen to LIKE half-trolls and half ogres. Besides, thanks to S&SS I finally get to see a half-hag template! :)

I find half-orcs a ridiculous enough concept. But half-trolls? Half-umber hulks? Puhleeze.

That's what makes role playing a great community. What works for one may not work for all.

I'm personally looking forward to reading about the different half-breeds. I'm hopingthat they can pull together some of the feats on half dragons that I've seen in a few books into one book to make them a little more formidable as I find that their high ECL makes them actually a little underpowered.

I'm also looking foward to the bloodlines bit. I've used the Bhaalspawn from Dragon as a family legacy bit before and it worked well.

As far as interlink with Paradigm, I don't see why not. Unless I'm more senile than I think, they have bloodlines in their setting too.
