This is a troll, right? I'm putting ranks into troll detection, you see, so I need some feedback to test myself.

I mean... first post of a new nick... email hidden... total ignorance of the setting being criticized... over the top criticisms with no real basis in fact... inflammatory comments (if you're a fan of the setting)...

Come on, that's a troll. Am I right? Huh? Tell me, puhleeeease!

Yeah, dump it on its arse and actually put some material out for it, I dont want the 'easy-mode' approach of Broken Realms where books try to make a better munchkin with each consecutive release.
Just update the Greyhawk material thats been made to 3E and you'd make me happy enough and save hours and hours of endless tweeking and hair tearing frustration.

Hmmm... Sorry for the hijack but... how many gods does Scarred Lands have?

Rav

As someone indicated there are 8 gods and one titan (a sort of proto-being), one for each alignment. They get a lot of detail in the Divine & the Defeated.

There are also an unknown number of demi-gods, who are a pretty varied bag. Some of the major ones get stats & details (maybe 10 or so) and there are another 10-15 floating around who are left quite vague, including some have been slain in ancient (or not so ancient) conflicts.

So you get a good, coherent pantheon and also have a passel of weird god-like entities, gods of dark races, gods-in-hiding, etc. too.

I would say move it to the REALMS. I "am" a fan boy of the realms, and its the only world my group plays in (If you want to do something non-realmish you just get on a boat put them in the undiscovered lands for a bit, as with any world, no problem). I keep seeing a lot of notes that say "I dont care, go ahead and keep GH, BUT give it more stuff like FR... ??? Uh, if it really does not matter to you and you want more material presented as it has been for the realms this seems redundant to me. The material is already there for the realms. And it is consistant, and growing in 3E which says something about the campaign world, wehter you like it personally or not eh?

It is successful, which means you get better material due to the fact more time and money gets put into it. Whatever the reason, which are MANY, as have been pointed out in prior posts (Quality gaming material, novels, computer games, etc. Many and/or a majority ALL REALMS). My group just finds GH so bleeding boring, and the realms have so much more to offer. (Regarding 3E material that seems to be a fact). Which we are very happy with.

However, I do think its bogus to keep Greyhawk around and basically tease their fans with all the bs. The only thing I have seen done for GH is the stuff in Dragon Magazine (Living Greyhawk), and that is all but 3-4 pages. Some of it actually looked cool and I am no Greyhawk fan, but it did irritate me when I thought about the hard-core GH fans. This is what they get? You GH fans do have a right to complain. If they are going to keep it around and not toss it to the way side like Dragonlance and Spell jammer then they should be putting out SOMETHING for you guys. I agree with you. But don't take it out on the realms : )
Its not arrogance, its just greatness.

Troll or not, I think the guy hit the nail on the head. Especially with Wee Jas. Maybe it's just me, but I could swear that there's a Ned (thug) who lives round in Maryhill called Wee Jas. He goes around stealing Dustcaps off cars and smashing windows. Never would have guessed he was the God of Magic. What size is this god? What's so Wee about him? Is there a Big Jas? What does Jas mean anyway? Is it short for anything? Jasper? Is he just Wee Jas to his friends and followers? Did he misspell something? Is his real name Wee Bas? Because then He'd be like EVERY Ned in Glasgow!

Sorry, sorry, I'm getting carried away...:D

HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!

One thing WotC got totally wrong with Greyhawk - in my humble opinion - is this:
if they put the world into the core rulebooks that means they are targeting everybody with it. But then they support the whole thing only via RPGA... which is bollocks:mad: !!! I live in Leipzig / Germany and there is absolutely no chance in hell for me to participate in Living Greyhawk since the German group is situated in Frankfurt which is four hours by car!!!

If they want to target the RPGA members then they shouldn't put Greyhawk into the core rulebooks. They should support the setting like they are supporting FR. It just drives me nuts since I consider myself a fan of Greyhawk and just don't have the chance to participate.

Maybe I'm just a frustrated old fart but that doesn't make sense... and oh yeah... they should dump it!

Cheers mateys

Sigh... yet another ignorant savage I must bless with Greyhawk Lore... 'tis a saddening thing indeed to see so many heathens walking about as if they invented the place...

First off, let's just establish how very little you actually know about Greyhawk, as is indicated by the above quote.

Wee Jas is the Suel (one of the human races on the planet and the first race to wield magic learned from the Grey Elves and whom brought about the Invoked Devastation which all but obliterated Baklun and created the Dry Steppes, a vast desert over the Sulhaut mountains) GodDESS of death, vanity, law and magic.

Sixchan said:
What size is this god?
SHE is an intermediate goddess.

Sixchan said:
What's so Wee about him?
There is nothing small about HER. However if we're to sink into namecalling, then perhaps we should examine your name... Sixchan... hmm...

Sixchan said:
Is there a Big Jas?
Yes, and SHE is it.

Sixchan said:
What does Jas mean anyway?
Ask Gary in the Q&A thread.

Sixchan said:
Is it short for anything?
I told you. Ask Gary in the Q&A thread!

Sixchan said:
Time to get a new joke, pal!

Sixchan said:
Is he just Wee Jas to his friends and followers?
No, SHE is also called 'The Witch Goddess', 'The Ruby Sorceress', 'Stern Lady' and 'Death's Guardian'.

Sixchan said:
Did he misspell something?
No, SHE did not.

Sixchan said:
Is his real name Wee Bas?
No, HER name is not Wee Bas.

Sixchan said:

Obviously this 'Ned' fellow caused you a great deal of trauma in your childhood. I recommend you see a therapist about that...

Who said I knew anything about Greyhawk? I don't see that part. *goes and looks again* Nope, I definitely don't see that part. Is it invisible? That might explain why it isn't there...

All I'm saying is it's a stupid name. Which it is. Nya. :p

Hey, and you don't know diddleysquat about Neds. Neds are everything you could hate about anything, all rolled up into one person. And they're in the Majority in Glasgow. And they're usually called Jimmy, despite the fact that they're Neds. You never want to meet a ned. They're worse than Cthulhu. You'll go INSANE. You'll go beyond insane. Be afraid. Be very afraid. They're coming to get you...AHHHHH!!!

Nya. :p
