Greyhawk God Info request.

First Post
Gary Gygax once wrote about at a Greyhawy Diety that recorded the worlds history in a book. This was simular to the history recording diety in Dragonlance, but differant. I think that it was brought up in a Dragon magazine artical. But i cant seem to find it.

So for all the Greyhawk guru's out there, (Including you Col. Pladoh.) could send me the info on it. I would help me greatly. I thank all of you ahead of time.

P.S. Im not looking for Istus, or Boccob. This is another diety all together.

The closest thing that I can find is Rao, "The Master of Thought." His book, the Raoi Uoepa (literally 'Book of Rao'), contains the history of the universe.

I found all of this from a quick internet search, since I'm not that knowledgeable about Greyhawk. Maybe someone else can help more.

In the LGG there's Delleb, the god of knowledge, who records the history of the Greyhawk. I don't recall such a deity being detailed within Greyhawk before, however, even taking the old Dragon articles by EGG and Len Lakofka into account.

I'm not saying that such a god doesn't exist somewhere in GH lore, just that it really doesn't ring a bell to me.

Allan.

That might do it.

Thanks Grodog,

I'm going though my Dragon Mags now trying to find the mention. I thought Gary brought it up on in one of his articals (no stats, just mention). But Delleb might just do the trick for what I'm writing.

Herald---I'm glad to be of assistance. If you do find the original article that inspired your idea, please post it, since I'd like to know what god it was that originally sparked your idea.

The CD is well-worth it. I had already collected most of the old Dragons I wanted (the ones with GH stuff mostly), and made copies before selling them some years ago. However, the search functionality alone makes the CD ROM a great tool.

You might also be thinking of Lendor. As the god of time, it is perfectly reasonable to put him in a role of the lore keeper of the GH gods, having a vast library containing the true history of everything that has ever happened on Oerth.

I don't think you're going to find anything like that. I'm quite familiar with all the GH articles by Gygax, Kuntz, and even Lakofka, and what you've described doesn't sound even vaguely familiar.
