But yet another "pretender" to the throne I guess...
To me this just shows that people only care about either the characters over the creator (which is sadly the norm), or care about their own "politics" about old-school stuff.
Quite a shame.
That's REALLY an obnoxious statement. People have waited 30+ years for this to be released and, after the debacle of Gygax Games pulling the license from TLG, things look mighty grim for the future of Castle Greyhawk.
A fan of the game steps up and tries to fill the void left by Gygax Games' decision and you give him grief over it?!?!
Because the real human being is more important than the fans waiting for Castle Zagyg. The castle is a fantasy object. And from what I see at that guy's blog, he's passive-aggressively insulting Gail in prior blog posts. And I'm sure Gary would have wanted you to wait for whatever Gail did rather than get another author to do it as a "tribute", since it's similar to the other "versions" of the castle.
Basically my statement is aimed at the sad reality--people are more interested in the creation than the creator. I doubt Gary would have wanted another erstaz castle. It just annoys me, especially so close to the 1 year anniversary of his death.
I actually thought people cared about Castle Zagyg based on its author. Sadly, I guess I was mistaken.
Very nice maps, jaerdaph!

I'm calling bullsh*t on this. I see this project as a tribute to Gary's memory and what he gave us, nothing more, nothing less.
I know this is the Internet and many of us gamers tend to lack social skills, but your comments are a pefect example of an opinion you should keep to yourself. Inside voice, dude.
Shameful.
