Just a quick question, does anyone know if Greyhawk will still be the default setting for 3.5E? Will there still be references to Greyhawk in the core books?

Quick answer: Yes.

Extended answer: Yes, the Greyhawk references will still be in the Core Rulebooks.

(Incidentally, there are a few Greyhawk references in the Fiend Folio that I quite liked. :))

Cheers!

What's your take on the Greyhawk references in Arms and Equipment Guide? (at least the descriptions of several WoG artifacts)

I'll tell you when I get the A&EG. :)

I've got a few friends who plan to give me a copy, but they haven't gotten around to it yet.

Cheers!

Supposedly they simply used the artifact names without any real flavor text. Or in other words, bastardized Greyhawk Artifacts!

To paraphrase Erik Mona from the wotc greyhawk board:
Greyhawk is, and will remain, a proper noun generator for non setting specific rule books.

A few good bits have come from greyhawk being core (the prestige class organizations in the class books for example) but overall, it's not worth grabbing the core books just for greyhawk content, it just isnt there for the most part.

:(

Extremely unlikely, for a couple reasons.

For one thing, they aren't going to be "updating" campaign sourcebooks per se. The best Greyhawk could hope for would be a Player's Guide, like the Realms is going to get.

It's also unlikely because we're going to be getting, part and parcel, Greyhawk material in the other books that come out, since its the default campaign setting used in the books, and in some cases, in Dragon and Dungeon.

Finally, Greyhawk isn't quite a supported campaign with WotC in the truest sense of the word, in that it never gets products specifically devoted to it under its own banner. The LGG was the sole exception because of the RPGA's Living Greyhawk campaign, and that's unlikely to be repeated, especially given how that book will still be virtually completely unchanged by 3.5E, since it had so much flavor text.
