(The trailer was nice and flavorful but I stand by my points that without clarification it would just raise more AI questions)
You're making the setting for 5e and Dragonbane, that's cool! Is there a challenge in designing for both?
I'm guessing this is a setting you've been running at home for a while, or is it a new creation?
How does it stand out from other Dark Sun-inspired settings, like Dragon Kings?
Do you think it'll get more play as itself, or as a supplement to Dark Sun games?
Is there an adventure included with it?
Hi! I played a lot of Dark Sun 30 years ago, and played the computer games. I love the brutal feeling. I also like an old setting called "UNDEAD" which I still have in a shelf (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undead_(Mayfair_Games)). And I also love post-apocalyptic games (Fallout/Gamma World, etc.). But this is more standalone, a collection of things I have played and GMed. I am thinking it can be played on Athas, but I do not want to risk any copyright infringements, and I loosely connect it to my "Weavesong" multiverse.
Also, it has its own lore and history and is loosely based on ancient Egyptian/Babylonian lore/mythology. Helios/Ra and Apophis/Apep are two important powers. Apophis is mostly known for his aim to turn the world into an eternal night.
I am aiming to include an adventure, and it will include the meta plot.
Haven't played or read any other Dark Sun settings.
5E/Dragonbane: As Swedish I find it interesting to make it compatible with Dragonbane (which is originally an old Swedish RPG I started playing in 1981 (before the actual release in 1982). The challenge is to limit the number of pages, as D&D 5e takes up a lot of space. Maybe I will do two separate books (or three). Yet to be decided.
And the content is not ready yet, so ideas are still welcome
