Grim Tales Insanity and CR

DwelleroftheDeep

First Post
I recently purchased Grim Tales and am very happy with it as a whole, however, I was curious as to whether or not there was a way to say, have a paranoid ogre and take it's mental deficiencies into account in it's CR.

It seems to me that it might not be too hard to assign the values myself but I'm a little lazy at the moment and was also wondering if there was anything official or in the book about this.

Hmm. Well, since the effects of all the insanities are expressed in d20 terms-- bonuses and penalties to skill checks and so on-- you could flip to the Creature Creation chapter and assign them a value.

I'd give you solid answers if I had my GT book at hand but, unfortunately, I do not.

But I believe it would have a negligible impact on CR. That may be the most facile answer, and save you quite a bit of work.

Wouldn't that just be giving the creature a specific weakness in the Creature Creation area? Any kind of distraction (like the PCs making noises to spook him beforehand) causes him to have to make a Will save to avoid becoming Shaken?

That's the quick & dirty way, anyway.
