Maybe someone who has used this system in play can help me with some questions.
I spent yesterday using GT and The Free Companies sourcebook to come up with a mass combat scenario for Conan d20. I'm having an Aquilonian/Pictish war on the Borderlands and Westermarch.
My question is this: When you have a unit flanked by multiple enemy units (of 50 persons each), lets say one on each side for simplicity, and you take Battle Rating damage from one, is this calculated before rolling the attack by the second enemy unit, or are both attacks calculated at the defending unit's original BR, and at the end of the round total BR deducted?
How would this work if a unit was surrounded in the middle of 8 enemy units? (they're probably toast)
I was also tinkering with combining the Free Companies Military Cohesion (MC) scores with Grim Tales, and i think it might work, actually making the combat go faster because attacks and damage are figured in a single roll for both sides.
Anyway, if anyone has experience and/or suggestions it's all welcome.
