Looks like the entire sheet is password protected, thus preventing any access beyond filling in the unlocked cells.

EDIT: Could the Open/Close rights be locked?

Thanks for clarifying the relationship between F-2/F-3. Another question comes to mind...specifically regarding dragons.

Let's say we are using an Adult Black (CR 11, Large, 40' Cone BW, 180' radius fear effect). The dragon attacks a unit of 200 Level 2 Warriors led by a 5th level captain (BR 20). Since the dragon essentially has two area of effect attacks - breath weapon and fear - would those effects stack or would you make 2 separate attacks?

It seems like the more logical way to do it would just be to stack the effects, so the dragon's attack would be 1d20 + 15 (normal BR) + 9 (40' cone attack affects 28 medium targets, yielding +9 on Table F-2) +15 (180' radius fear effect can affect the maximum number on Table F-3 - 1,810 - but it is limited by the actual size of the unit on Table F-2). This yields a total attack factor of 1d20 + 39 vs. the unit's defense of 30 (10 + 20 BR)...is that correct?

If so...does the unit make 2 saves or a single save. I guess if the effects are combined it would be a single save. I suppose the other way to treat the fear effect would be to treat as a seperate attack that lowers morale...but that seems to be adding another step.

Personally, I wouldn't use the dragon fear. That's one of those things that I think is better left to the EL system; and at any rate doesn't really fit the criteria of a "sufficiently devastating effect" (see bottom of page 18 in your PDF).

If you wanted to allow it (and seeing as it's dragon fear there's a compelling argument for it!), you could allow the unit a single saving throw when the dragon first attacks, and if they fail it it's the same as a failed morale check (the unit may only withdraw or retreat, but may counterattack if attacked).

Thanks...I will have to chew on this a bit more. On the subject of morale, I was wondering why the current D&D 3.x "morale" conventions weren't used (shaken, panicked, etc) - for internal consistency and all that ;)!

Scale: A +2 bonus/penalty in this system means much more than it does when normally applied to a d20 check. I could have called them by the same naming conventions, but as the effects would be different anyhow there didn't seem much point.
