GRIP: Anyone used it?

I played in an event at a con this weekend (Game Storm 2003 in Portland, OR. Great time!) and won a copy of GRIP: Traveller edition. Which was kind of ironic considering the event was FUDGE Fantasy. But I digress...

The box contained a copy of the original Traveller rules (books 1-3) plus the GRIP software DM pack. So I can theoretically use this thing on-line to play just about anything (the software's not specifically for Traveller).

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has tried GRIP, and had any comments on how useful it is, how well it works, etc.

Thanks,

-Chris

I've used Grip and its a great ...if a little buggy ...program. It does almost everything you could want with an online program...chat, map, send files, sounds etc. It was a very small, but very dedicated community on a Yahoo group list.

The only issue (other than the bugs and difficulty in getting response from the overworked developers) I have is the small community size...which may be representative of all online gaming. I never here anything about Klooge and Openrpg seems only slightly better.

One promising bit of news is that GRiP may be getting more attention from the developers as a HACKmaster version of the game is reportedly in development. Theie development time is slow, but if it turns out as strong as the original Travellor version of GRiP, I'd be happy.
