GenCon or not, man. It's threads like this that remind me how much pathological bloodthirsty homicidal maniacs love this place. :D Er... and people like me. That's it. Two. Distinct. Groups. Now pass the blades, Kae'Yoss!

Can do.

Oops! I shouldn't have passed them edge-first. I always mix that part up. :p

We could organise many funny party games. Like a puppy throwing competition, or pin the red-hot-poker at the bound victim's eye.

...

I mean, it would not be real puppies. Or victims. Or pokers. Though I insist on real red-hot.

Well, I'm not at GenCon either.

Not yet. I go to the UK version in - ooh - two weeks.

Now, how about a game of Fluxx, where knowing the Rules don't help (because they keep changing...)

This is the first Gencon I'm _not_ going to in quite some time. And I'm heartbroken. The office is quiet now and bound to get quieter, once the last stragglers leave.

So I'm in the same boat. Just keeping my head down, typing away, trying not to think about the games. Oh, man, the games...

Welcome to the boards, Dave! At least they let you out of the podcast booth and gave you internet access before they left. :)

Oh, and I play the "gain +1 level" card in the Munchkin game we're playing here. :)

Re: OP

Yeah, now that Gencon's happening, what WILL we talk about? Too bad there's nothing interesting happening in the world of D&D. Anyone find out why the release schedule seems to be winding down?

Who knows? I reckon they've just run out of ideas over there.

How I miss the good old days, when I couldn't wait to find out what was in a forthcoming new book. Oh well, I suppose we're just getting more of the same for the forseeable future.

Its funny that the messageboards are running so slowly today though. I was wondering whether to take the 4th edition threads off ignore, but since everything's taking so long I haven't got the patience today.

Well, I guess now it's obvious why I'm bummed i'm not at the show. But there's one thing I can do: respond to some of these threads.

So for the next few hours, I'm going to bounce between here and the Gleemax forums, answering questions as I can.

Some quick caveats, though:

• Both ENWorld and Gleemax are crazy-slow right now. Pretty obvious why.
• I'm not going to delve deep into mechanical issues, or pull the curtain back wide on the process. Adjust your hopes to conform to reality.
• I can't respond to every thread, even if I had the time. Y'all are collectively typing too fast.
• You get a couple hours of my time tonight. It turns out I've got some writing left to do today (yeah, you can probably guess what I'm writing), I want to go for a run before it gets dark here in Seattle, and I've got a bathroom here at home that needs ceramic tile.
