That is highly disappointing. I mean, I understand that they might not have reconcepted all the monster visual designs, but at least give us new artwork for them.

In watching this video, I was again struck by how the hill giant's damage seems way too low, so low that I think it needs errata. Chris Perkins references how the hill giant, as a brute, does more damage than a monster of its level is expected to. But the hill giant does a measely 1d10+5 damage (average 11) as a level 13 brute! A zombie is only a level 2 brute, and it does 2d6+2 damage (average 9). I know 4E has a flatter power curve, but that is ridiculously flat if a brute's average damage only increases by 2 points between level 2 and level 13. I'm guessing it is a typo and that the damage should have been 2d10+5 or 1d10 plus 10 or 15.

Maybe the Drake Swarm and the Hill Giant damage values have been mixed up?

Disappointing, indeed. Well, the picture doesn't look _that_ bad. (But after reading the Daily Art thread posts, I am not sure my taste is not very shallow and uncritical, or in others words: But what do I know?)
But I like me some new artwork.
