How does one block oneself from seeing or interacting with a particular poster?

You can keep yourself from seeing posts by an individual by adding them to your Ignore List.

Up at the top of the page, there's a link for "Settings".

In your settings, in the left bar, there's an option for "Edit Ignore List"

Incidentally, another way to do it ....

Click on the person's name from any post and select "view public profile"

from their public profile, shortly below their name (but above the little tabs) is "User Lists" -- if you click on that, you get the option to add the person to your ignore list.
