Guilds & Adventurers-Input sought

1) Seeing it at my FLGS so I could check it out
2) HAVING a FLGS.

Rediculous. 1/4 million people in my metro area and not one game store for like 100 miles. We used to have one called Gauntlet, but they did their damndest to drive away any customers they got, and natural selection took it's course. Sigh.

Thanks for the link to the review, though.

I was actually very interested in this until I read Joe's review, I hate to say. He gives it a good score, but all in all, it sounds somewhat lackluster, and he doesn't seem too excited about it. I also don't like how the new core class is apparently worse than the Expert.

It's still on my to buy list, but it's gone from near the top to near the bottom, which means I'll probably end up buying it in 2006 or so.

Hey bud, you miss read Joe's point on the expert. There are two classes in G&A. One is a Guildsmen Prc, the other is the Guild Expert. What Joe was saying is that a PLAYER would probably want to take a few levels of expert and go into the Prc rather than just go into the Guild Expert. He was not saying the Guild Expert was weaker than the expert but rather the Guildmen class is what would appeal more to PCs. I can live with that as the guild expert was designed around the NPC henchman or hireling.

Also, Joe liked G&A a great deal and that came across to me in the review but I am sorry it did not come across to you. There are other reviews, all rate he book highly. Here is one at Game Play News:

I think you will like the book a great deal and hope you take some time to check it out.

I'll let you know - as of last week it wasn't there, but I'm toodling over to my two FLGS's nearby after I get out of the office today, so hopefully it's there at one of them.

(Yes, they do take requests for orders, but it's usually lousy and unreliable. But I do it anyways...)

Thanks arnwyn!
