Guinea Pigs!

I'd love to see someone stat out guinea pigs (cavys).

As an animal. A familiar. A riding guinea pig. A dire guinea pig. Surely there are other guinea pig lovers out there.. My wife wants to have a guinea pig familiar and a riding guinea pig, but I can't stat myself out of a paper bag. ;D

i wouldn't expect guinea pigs to have a poisonous bite, for one thing...

They might not be rats, but the rat is a reasonable starting point. They're both rodents of relatively the same size.

Quick-and-dirty rat -> cavy conversion... drop diseased bite, reduce Dex by 2, increase Con by 2. Drop climb and swim speeds, remove racial bonus to Balance. Give them +4 racial bonuses to Listen and Spot in exchange. As a familiar, grant Toughness as a bonus feat.

For dire cavies, same conversion from dire rat. Drop disease, reduce Dex by 2, increase Con by 2. Remove climb speed, swim bonuses, add racial bonuses to Spot and Listen. Maybe increase NA by 1 to account for the thickness of the fur.

As for a riding cavy... the Creature Catalog still has their giant space hamster up, doesn't it? That'd be as good a start as any.
