Well, it's not battletech. But it does look great It's coming out October 2026 and it's made by Bandai. And unlike other starter kits for miniature battles,this one is $35 and comes with everything two people need to play. And the expansion packs are 40 dollars.

I do not know if a table top game has enough lasers to replicate the feel of Gundam.

First off cool that they include the rules.

Here is the section on combat

Attack Dice
Roll a number of attack dice equal to the Strength shown for the weapon. Each die that rolls a four or higher is considered a hit, and damage equal to the total number of hits is dealt to the target's hit points.

Critical Hits
If a 9 or 10 is rolled on a die, it's considered a critical hit, and the weapon's critical hit effect triggers.

I really don't want to get sucked into this game, but I am almost guaranteed to. The initial impressions look good, at least.

In the last twenty years, I think Battletech and X-Wing are the only miniature battle starter sets I've bought for less than $50. I don't know a whole lot about Gundam, but I've been impressed by the model kits which are highly detailed, contain tons of parts, and are much cheaper than Games Workshop. I wonder if Bandai is able to bring an economy of scale to miniatures in a way other companies cannot. GW probably could, but their pricing structure doesn't allow it. I'm interested in seeing how this game goes. For $40 I might buy it.
