D&D 4E h0mebrew 4E D&D Dragoon class

Im working on a new class based sort of around the lancer class in Final Fantasy Tactics, which was renamed in war of the lions as dragoon. Im up to lv six but this is the first class ive built so i was hoping someone could look it over and see how it works. Is it broken? Underpowered? Just too wierd? Any Help would be much appreciated, ty. Ps. Its in kind of a wierd format because im not really sure how to upload things but its here.

They should have Weapon proficiency with all weapons in the spear category. Since they're otherwise limited to simple melee, this wouldn't be game breaking. I wouldn't let them wield shields since they're greater majority a two-handed weapon class. That would make up for letting them use plate (see below)

Dragoon's Heart vs. Dragoon's Claw. There is little reason why a level 1 character would choose a bonus to death saves instead of a bonus to damage. Maybe allow the dragoon a bonus to damage rolls equal to Constitution modifier instead?

Or, if you're hoping to differentiate and not just have one damage over another, you could maybe have it be a free save when hit by an effect a save could end (bonus = Con mod when save vs. death). It's on par with the Warden feature since it's only once, but immediately.

Also, this is more personal preference than hard rule. But, for skills, I'd usually try to include a set of skills for each build; so Athletics + 6 others total class skills so each build can have 3 distinct skills it uses. Maybe let the Dex Build have Acrobatics? As a heavy armor wearing class this would be a unique fit.

Finally, since it's modelling the FFTA class, why not let them wear plate without the check penalty to Jump checks (athletics)? The FFTA dragoon wears what appears to be plate armor.

i meant for them to have access to all military spears but the program im using does not allow inputting specific things like that, but i will edit the file directly to list that. The plate thing is a cool idea and i agree about the no shields for two hands but i figured id give pcs the option to use a shield. Ty for the response and as i said before im open to and help. hehe, looking better. Um, I think you overshot just a bit on the Dragon's heart feature this time. Giving the class a static con mod bonus to saves AND an automatic save when so affected is far too powerful for a feature alone. Maybe by epic tier and requiring a feat for it in particular.

Consider as I posted above, with a free save when affected and a bonus to death saves equal to con mod (similar to the original). **Edit** An interesting thought occurred when reading over Dragon's Heart again. If you made it an immediate reaction, so that it self limits to once per round and restricts other actions, I'd say it's fine as is. It'd also make an interesting niche choice for the class.

With that said, I'll dig more deeply into powers when I get some time.
