Hail the new Pit Fiend! (right here)

First Post
Lets just face it, the new Pit Fiend is pure and sweet ownage.
From now on they will be prayed to, and be feared like gods, even by mighty Mages and other powerful outsiders.
Now they deserve to bath in our awe. Here is the place to show your respect to those creatures that have been laughed at for so long and now strike fear and respect in our players hearts!
Hail the lords of HELL! It is so much more fun to be 3.5e Dungeon Master now...life can be sooo good.

That's an honest-to-goodness O HOLY CRAP moment right there, ladies and gentlemen. The new Solar is going to have to improve to keep up, although not as much. But it needs it's CR changing as well.

Two points:

Good: Pit Fiends should have been stronger, in comparison to other published monsters. A CR 16 just ain't good enough when there are only 100 in existence.

Bad: One less creature I can actually use at the levels I play at. Not into epic-level gaming (or rather, I prefer to consider levels 11-20 as effectively "epic")

In either case, nifty, although I'm probably not going to buy any of the new books (prolly check out the SRD and steal a few bits, but I'm satisfied with 3e as is)

Where does it say there are only 100 pit fiends?

So not really an official stance of D&D3. That's what I thought. So, irrelevant for basing D&D3 stats on.

Well, the number of creatures is irrelevant to stats in any edition. The background material likely holds for the world regardless of edition.
