Half-baked Apocaclypse

Baron Opal

First Post
Relics of Ragnarok

Formed by the few of the wise who survived the battle of the gods. Unable to enter the valley of the Creche, the few survivors of the last battle eked a living out from the shattered lands. There were still some powers that could be respected and drawn upon, and all of them were used to fashion these items. The Wise then gave them to the Mighty and the Just and the Merciful, for the Wise has expended all of their life and lore into these tools. Five forms, twelve of each form.

An age has passed. Still there are fell creatures that prowl, and mis-shapen things that howl to terrible things in the dark. But, still we survive. And now, bright beings, perfect in form and mind exit the Creche along with their young gods and seek to retake what is theirs; they consider the whole of creation theirs.

Late at night I mix a little Nordic myth with some Saberhagen and a shot of my favorite scotch. And I think what it would be like if you were on the wrong side of Balder, Hod and the new gods and their new race of humans when they come out to reclaim the world?

Interesting twist on the old post-apocalyptic setting. Keep playing with it; I'm sure there's a really cool campaign in there somewhere!

Anyone have some good links to apocalyptic art? Something to evoke the mood and perhaps provide inspiration for the items that the fomori (the race the PCs get to play) quest for.

Kind of thinking of a Moorcockian Gran Bretan vibe crossed with the mythic Tuatha de Dannan as the adversaries.
