(Half-)Celestial/(Half-)Fiendish DR

Maybe I should put this in House Rules, but,

Does anyone else think that DR evil/good are more appropriate for (Half-) Celestial / (Half-) Fiendish templates?

Sorry if this has been brought up before.

How about Celestial/Fiendish?
They do have Smite Evil/Good.

That's my concern, too.
But would it be enough to up the CR/LA?

Celestial/Fiendish are CR+2/LA+2.
Half-Celestial/Fiendish are CR+1 to +3/LA+4.

Since C/F don't get DR unless they have more than 4HD,
it might be OK,
but Half- 1HD creature will get DR5 for CR+1,
so that may be too powerful I guess.

Anyway, I guess most people are satisfied with DR magic,
I will consider this as House Rule.

According to MM,
they are "Always Good/Evil (any)".

BTW, they don't have any Good/Evil subtype though.

Also, I think I read in SS an option that Half-Celestial/Fiendish
lose spell-like abilities if they turn non-Good/Evil.

Anyway, I guess what happens to Angels/Demons (for example) if
they become different Alignment is another matter.

Or are you saying that they should have DR cold iron or some such?
That would be interesting, but maybe too complicated?

Exactly. Basically, that's my answer. While the concept of a half-fiend/half-celestial is just awesome, I'd rule that the characters alignment would dictate what abilities they get.

Not really. Similar premise.

Nah. Not unless you increase the CR/ECL of the template(s).

Then what DR do you propose for?
1) Half-Celestial Human (Align: CG)
2) Fiendish Red Dragon (Align: CE)

Clr8
(a PC BTW, so LA+4 =ECL12.)

2) Fiendish Red Dragon (Align: CE)
Mature Adult =HD25
(CR18+2 =20; I have lowered this to 19,
because most of the Fiendish abilities just overlap Dragon abilities.
I will probably make it CR20 if DR is 10/evil.)
