Half of Huge

What is half the Space of a Huge creature which has a 15ft Space? The obvious answer is 7.5ft, but that breaks the Square boundary (not necessarily a bad thing). Could a Huge creature squeeze into an area with only 4 squares, or would it require 5? And, if 5, which 5? Or, would it require 6 (2/3)?
Squeezing
In some cases, you may have to squeeze into or through an area that isn’t as wide as the space you take up. You can squeeze through or into a space that is at least half as wide as your normal space. Each move into or through a narrow space counts as if it were 2 squares, and while squeezed in a narrow space you take a -4 penalty on attack rolls and a -4 penalty to AC.

When a Large creature (which normally takes up four squares) squeezes into a space that’s one square wide, the creature’s miniature figure occupies two squares, centered on the line between the two squares. For a bigger creature, center the creature likewise in the area it squeezes into.

A creature can squeeze past an opponent while moving but it can’t end its movement in an occupied square.

To squeeze through or into a space less than half your space’s width, you must use the Escape Artist skill. You can’t attack while using Escape Artist to squeeze through or into a narrow space, you take a -4 penalty to AC, and you lose any Dexterity bonus to AC.

I think that half of huge is large, but that doesn't directly address your problem.

As I read your quote, it seems to suggest that you lose one line of squares from one side of your base...large 2x2=4 can squeeze into a 1x2=2 or 2x1=2 squares so...huge 3x3=9 could squeeze into 2x3=6 or 3x2=6 squares. For the huge to squeeze through 1 square wide, would require the escape artist stuff.

The dimensions are not phrased in terms of area, but width. The Huge creature can squeeze through a space which is at least 7.5' wide.

The rules don't really address whether a creature can squeeze in two or three directions at once - can an ogre squeeze himself into a 5'-a-side crate?

Additional Squeezing Questions

1. Do you impose penalties for vertical squeezing? If an elder fire elemental (40ft tall) enters a chamber that is only 20ft, does it get squeezing penalties? Can it even fight in a room smaller than that?

2. Consider a Huge dragon (Space 15ft) that can burrow (not through stone), but is on top of a stone floor a couple of inches thick. How many 5ft squares will it have to destroy in order to start burrow-squeezing sans escape artist? This question could almost be rephrased: when you burrow, which side of you (axis) faces forward?

Yes. The penalties are effectively the same as for horizontal squeezing. This article can give more details.

Four. The article says:
"Narrow and Low: An area that is smaller in both the horizontal and vertical dimensions than the creature's space falls into this category, so long as each of the constricted dimensions is at least one-half the creature's space or height, respectively. A creature in these conditions moves at one-quarter normal speed and takes attack penalties equal to twice those indicated above."
