Half Orcs in love....

Very strange question I know but....

If a Half Orc and a human have a kid would it be a Human??

And if a half orc and an Orc have a kid would it be an Orc??

My campaign world has it that the Orcs and humans teamed up and ran those filthy dwarves and elves from the land. They formed a huge fuedal empire and Humans and Orc are lords and knights and what not. They marry have kids so there are lots of Half Orcs running around (gross huh )

Make it easy for yourself. Use

Human + Half Orc
50% chance for new half-orc
50% chance for ugly human

Orc + Half Orc
50% chance for new half-orc
50% chance for ugly orc

In 2e, you'd get a half-orc.
But also in 2e, if a half-elf and a human had a child, you get a human.

I thought that children of a half-something always turned out to be what the other parent ways.

Half-Orc + Human = Human
Half-Elf + Human = Human
Half-Orc + Orc = Orc
Etc.

At least thats what I thought I had read somewhere. Of course its probably a gray enough area that you can do what ever works the best.

From the PHB, regarding half-elves:
"Most half-elves are the children of human–elf pairings. Some, however, are the children of parents who themselves are partly human and partly elven."

This implies indirectly that a further dilution remains the same thing. I.e., a half-orc + anything = half-orc, but only if the rules work the same for half-elves as they do for half-orcs.

I don't know how many of you did the genetic squares in biology class, but that's what I would use. I assume a human has two human genes, an elf has two elf genes, and a half elf has one of each.

so for a half elf father and a human mother.

They should be sterile. Stupid half-race abominations. Just like when horses and donkeys make a mule. The half-horse (or half-donkey i dunno) is sterile.
