Yes its good to see them drifting outside the Swordcoast & North.

Still at this rate we will have fully updated the 5e Forgotten Realms in about 100 years.

Interesting catch. I would like that. I still have my old 2e "Shining South" book, with the dragon fighting a Halruaan skyship on the cover.

You say that but we'll have at least a dozen catastrophes completely altering everything we know about the realms in that time.

That’d be pretty cool. My first 3e FR campaign began in Halruaa. The airship presence could indeed be a tell. It’s not the first time they’ve used flying things to connect the modules. The events at the floating castle in Hoard of the Dragon Queen hint at Storm King’s Thunder. And SKT has an airship from the Cult of the Dragon.

Elminster himself ... excuse me, Ed Greenwood ... hasn't published much about Halruaa, because having everyday magic affects just about everything in society; the more you think about it, the tougher it gets. He hasn't been able to make something publishable (in terms of size and complexity).

But putting a skyship into one chapter (maybe as a place to have a fight) and/or being at a town when a Halruaan merchant caravan comes in and sets up shop (literally) could be a lot of fun.

Ed might not have written much about Halruaa, but there has been decent coverage of the region in various accessories over the years. There was also a trilogy of novels by Elaine Cunningham set there that I remember enjoying reading back in the day...

Listening to the Lore You Should Know on Halruaa, it seemed like it was hinting at that.
I'd say that's a stretch.

The spring AP won't be out until April, which is 7+ months away. That's a long time to be seeding hits, especially when ToA has yet to be released.
They've also done Lore You Should Know on other side places, like Realmspace and Spelljammer. It's more likely someone asked about Halruaa.

Plus, they've settled into a pattern where the spring AP is more reprints and is the less dramatic story (not being the focus of Neverwinter, minis, summer convention games, streaming storylines, etc). Coincidentally, it's also the AP planned and written when Perkins is the most busy, so the spring one often has reprinted elements.
