Hammer of Moradin (PGtF)

Hey...

This new PrC requires 2nd level divine spells to enter.. and there is no mention of caster level increasing anywhere over the 10 levels. But... once you enter into the EPIC Hammer of Maradin... caster levels do increase.

Is caster level progression missing from the non-EPIC PrC?

Probably not. You don't get more spells as you go up in the epic class, just caster level, so I don't see why they'd get any spell bonuses in the non epic class. And it appears to be more of a fighter class anyway.

Well, you'll notice some other discrepancies...

The HitDice for instance, drops when you go Epic Hammer.

If I had to guess, it looks like they shifted design ideaology on the Hammer, but failed to update the Epic progression.

In other words, I think the caster progression and the hitdie in the epic section are actually in error as opposed to the base class being in error.

That is interpretation however , but if the Hammer had even with the proposed 1/2 caster level progression, there is no way I'd allow that in my campaign ever .
