Hand / Eye of Vecna

Has anybody put these items into there campaigns? I am thinking about it. Where did you hide the hand and/or eye of Vecna?

I was thinking of putting the Eye of Vecna in/on an ancient Red Dragon. That should be fun. Where could I hide the hand of Vecna??

Well, this won't work if you want the creature who "owns" the Hand to be able to actually use it...

But if you really want to make it hard to find, have some crazed wizard use it as the right hand on an otherwise normal flesh golem. :D

Woo, not a good idea.

I have a feeling that a flesh golem that was wearing the Hand would quickly become uncontrolled.

Interesting idea, though, especially if the user didn't really understand what he had.

On a related note, why doesn't Vecna get them back.

I want however cut off there hand to use the darned thing. Maybe some fallen paladin who cut off his own hand so no one could use the hand. He now roams the land causing destruction where ever he goes.

Wow, I answered my own post. Is this like talking to yourself and answering your own questions?? :p

Presently using the Hand and eye in my campaign. The eye the players don't know about.

Today they unleashed the hand, and it was picked up by a wizard they don't know (but have his journal) and teleported away.

The hand was hidden in a silvery liquid font. Now here's the take something from somewhere and use it. I took Tomb raider the movie, grabbed the scene for the first part of the triangle and followed most of it's thing to a tee. COmplete with statues and the 6 armed statue. Used a magical tattoo as the key and it went exactly like the movie. Water came out of the bowl, light bursts out, etc.

The pc';s ended up fleeing cause they realized that the statues are all golems.
What's more, a pc's prized sword was left behind, one of the pc's was killed and they got a gem that they were after. Some objectives concluded and some are just plain painful.

Hehehe

What you really need is the HEAD of Vecna.

Well, not really, but you should have some guys mummified head laying around called the "Head of Vecna", just so that one of your players could be tempted into trying to chop off his own head to put it on.

Or perhaps several players might try this.

Ah, the Head of Vecna. Such a classic scam.

Here is a little something I made up some time ago -- The Hand of Vecna as the Big Bad in a campaign. Not as a tool of a Big Bad, but AS the Big Bad. Any comments/contributions (especially on copyright/trademark info I should put up there!) would be greatly appreciated!
