Happy GM's Day!

Two of my players took me to see Ghost Rider this afternoon. One of them had given me a prepaid gift card last month for my birthday with which to purchase some game material. Unfortunately, the EN download shop doesn't take prepaid gift cards.

I had to cancel my game today at the last minute :(

My Sunday game only has three players, two of whom had to show up late, and one who had to leave early. There would have been like a half-hour of overlap.

Ah well, there is always Friday.

My players got me a box of minis. The huge fig is the Aspect of Bahamut. It is the coolest mini EVAR. Coolness of the monster aside, it's just so PRETTY. I will find a way to use it in my next dungeon.

I spent (earlier) today buying various miscellaneous items that looked interesting and were quite well priced:

- Ars Lingua (I came across this one a while back, but somehow I never got around to buying it, despite my interest in making languages more realistic, interesting, and useful.)

- Secrets of the Inner Planes (It looks potentially interesting, and it only cost a dollar. )

- AstroSynthesis 2.0 (I can think of several uses for this one.)

- VRG to the Shadow Fey (I've wanted this one for a while now, but I could not find it in hardback anywhere, and somehow I never thought to look on the web for a pdf version of it.)

(The next two were mostly due to my interest in seeing the basics of other systems. Game design is interesting, and whether I find ideas to incorporate or inspiration to run a game in that system, it is often interesting to see what other systems offer. As nice as it is, D&D does not cover every situation or quest style well, despite the potential that I believe lies in the d20 system.)

- BESM d20 Revised
- RuneQuest

All in all, I bought perhaps a bit more than I should have, but I no doubt will find it interesting and useful - once I have the time to read through it all (and play with AstroSynth a bit). :)
