I've not given a release date, mainly because the books are now at a stage in the process which I have no control over - layout, etc. I wait to see them with as much anticipation as everyone else.
The current strategy is the release of each section in softcover format, and then the compilation at the end. Right now, for NEW, there are already three books available* (
Future Careers, Future Equipment, and
Space). The 'core' rules softcover,
Future Core, is in layout and I'm expecting to see the file by the end of this week. Then I proof it one last time, last changes are made, and it goes on sale in PDF and softcover format. That means that could be any time between tomorrow and two weeks.
Then, finally, there's
Building A Universe which is all the GMing advice, campaign and setting design tools and stuff.
All in the meantime, of course, all the rules are up on the WOIN Rules Reference Document and the online Bestiary.
For OLD, the situation is somewhat similar. A different layout designer is working on that one, so it's happening at the same time as NEW. Its one book behind in the process -
Fantasy Careers is out,
Archaic Equipment is in layout and I await the final glorious file with baited breath and more anticipation than you can imagine, while resisting the temptation to email layout designers every day to say "Is it done yet? What about now? Now?"
*There's also the
Starter Set and
Starship Construction Manual, of course. But those aren't part of the hardcover compilation.
