Hardcover vs. Softcover showdown

If you foud a really good RPG book, would you want it in

  • Hardcover, make it a keeper!

Overall, I'd say hardcover. But that's a function of quality and pagecount.

Psionics Handbook is pretty damn good, but has too low pagecount to merit hardcover - I want at least 192 pages if it's in hardcover. Otherwise it feels like a third of the price goes to the cover.

When I bought GURPS Basic, the choice was between softcover and hardcover. The hardcover costed $5 more. No argue there, I picked the hardcover.

Agreed. Hardcover all the way. I jumped at the news that Gold Rush Games had some Champions Hardcovers they found in the warehouse. A treasured addition to my library.

About Classbooks... It would be kind of nice to see a Harcover compilation. I know how impossible that is. :D
 

I agree with a lot of people on here that it depends on the number of pages as to wether or not it merits hardcover or softcover.

But I definately like hard cover much better. Just something about having that hardcover book in your hand that you don't get from softcover. Maybe it's just a hangup from AD&D 1E.
