Harpy Song: What Does It Sound Like?

TarionzCousin

Second Most Angelic Devil Ever
How would you describe the song of the harpy? Is it described anywhere throughout the history of D&D?

Is it beautiful sounding, terrible, melodic, or what? All I've found is the effect: captivating.

Please note if you are citing some source (even if only half-remembered) or merely offering your opinion on how the harpy's song sounds.

Mortal voices only capture it in fleeting moments of soaring refrains. It is the sound of forever unrequited love. It is the sound of endless longing. It is unslakable lust given aural form. It is a sound so achingly beautiful that it can tear your heart out.

Someone on CircvsMaximvs directed me to Dragon magazine #115, where there is an article specifically about harpy songs.

But if I don't find what I'm looking for there, it's going to be the Cocteau Twins. :D
