Harry Knowles analyzes The Hulk shooting script

Meh. I liked 'Clones, too, but that's already been argued to death on this board and others.

Forget the AICN reviews, though... the WORST aspect of AICN by far is the talkback sections. I unwittingly browsed a few of them in the past, and now wish I had those few precious moments of my life back, and seek desperately to remove its taint from my soul. Ugh... the filth... the utter craptasticness of it all.... *shudder* I think I need to go shower again...

Ouch. I guess Russ better scrap his new plans for EN World's forums, then!

NO PLEASE DON'T GO THE WAY OF AICN!!!!
That forum is such utter crap. I never read the talkback. It's totally pointless.

Ug. To each his own, I guess. I watched it on DVD a couple of weeks ago. Man it sucks. The guy doing Anakin is really bad.

Visually, it's awesome. Unfortunately, the acting and script don't hold up.

You are so right!!

It sucked horribly and Lucas should be shot over creating it. In fact the best proof that it sucked was the several hundred MILLIONS of dollars it made.

Yep, it sure sucked.

Sucked, no. Failed to live up to it's potential, to me, yes. How many times have I watched Fellowship? Four times in the theatre, lost count on DVD. How many times have I seen Episode II in the theater? Twice, once out of obligation. How many times on DVD? None, as I didn't buy it.

Mind you, I wouldn't use financial markers as a measure of a film's quality. I consider 'The Limey' to be one of the best films of 2000....but it didn't exactly make a fortune in the 25 theatres that carried it.

And Harry Knowles wanted me to believe that Episode II was so good, that it made Episode I good, purely by virtue of fleshing out it's story. If I were to believe AICN's pre-release talk, it was a landmark film.

Hmpf.... No bad review would have stopped me from seeing it at the theaters. It's a Star Wars film. For me, that's enough to get me into the theater to watch it. I think that's one reason why it made 300$ million or so.

When my friend and I watched it a couple of weeks ago, we found the movie boring and the acting pretty bad. There's no charisma between Padme (?) and Anakin. The story isn't that great either.

Some people will like I guess... I really don't. Like I said, I went to the theather because it's Star Wars.

I can dig a little bashing on Harry. He does gush alot. But he is the ultimate fanboy. Not that I want to like crap, but I wouldn't mind being more entertained. If something excites him and he enjoys it, more power to him. It may discredit his reviews, but that's ok as well. I have never seen a movie based off his suggestions (I have however, done so because of his site).

And as for Fellowship, TT, etc. it is vastly unfair to compare them to the new Star Wars movies. Gotta be fair and compare them to the originals. Plus, the LotR movies had one of the best writers ever working on it. When the LotR prequels come out then I shall debate how they compare to the Star Wars prequels, but until then... :)

WizarDru: This was not directed soley at you, I'm just putting it out there and your post echoed others in the thread. ;)
