Harry Potter-style adventures?

I've been thinking about using "Redhurst: Academy of Magic" for a play-by-e-mail game, but was wondering exactly what to DO with it -- I don't have a burning desire to recreate "Harry Potter" school room adventures, and was more interested in having most of the action take place during school breaks, when the players get unexpectedly stranded somewhere, when they stumble into various sorts of serious trouble, etc. Any suggestions?

I'm especially interested in modules with the appropriate theme. I think "Beyond the Crystal Cave," "The Magic Dump" and "The Dragonfiend Pact" could all work pretty easily, either for students or new graduates. Any other suggestions?

Redhurst moves around a lot. So, you can have the students get into trouble and find advntuires in any of the new places they findthemselves in. Also, it would add a time element since they would have to get back to the school before it went away.

I think a Harry Potter-style game would be a lot of fun. I also think it would be a great way to introduce new players to D&D. The HP books are pretty universal so they would already have a feel for the "world".

While I agree in-class scenarios might get a bit boring, playing while class is in session might be fun. The players would have to worry about attending class and passing their tests while going on mini-adventures at the same time.

I think one of things you would have to decide on is whether the outside world has any knowledge of magic or not. If it's just like the HP world, they will have to be careful about using their magic outside of the school.
