Harvesting Poison?

I noticed some official rules on harvesting component parts from the bodies of monsters in Unearthed Arcana. Where can I find rules for collecting poison? I'm pretty sure I've seen it somewhere...

The BoVD has a good poison section. Essentially, after harvesting creature venom, it takes a Craft (Poisonmaking) check to turn it into a powerful, effective poison.

The BoVD has some rules for harvesting them. IIRC, it was a craft check to harvest them; merely sticking your blade in one's poison sacs won't work.

If it were me, I'd do a combination of the two. Handle animal check to calm the animal (or just do enough non-leathal damage do knock it out), then do a craft: poison making check to see if it's processed correctly and powerfully enough to serve it's purpose. Then, if allowed, craft:alchemy check to see if it can be replicated by different means, incase the beasty isn't around to collect from.

That might work. But I'm thinking more along the lines of after the venomous creature has been slain.

How does one collect the poison from the body without:

a) poisoning oneself; and

b) spoiling the poison.

The rules in the BoVD, as far as I can tell, seem to assume that the person crafting the poison has access to the carcass of the poisonous creature or the specific parts of it that contain the raw venom. Extracting these seems to simply be part of the process of creating the poison, and is simply included in the Craft (poisonmaking) check.

I would personally assume that the venom in any particular monster starts to decay shortly after its death, and would be unusable for poison creation after a few days.
