Has anybody read a novel called The Assyrians

I just saw a novel at a used book shop called The Assyrians, written by an author named Guild IIRC. It seems to be a War and Peace type novel set in the Assyrian empire.

It intrigued me because this is a historical period not often covered in fiction.

Has anybody read it? Any good?
