Has anyone had experience with Fractal Mapper v7.0 or earlier?

I got a copy of this software at Gen Con this year, and while I can already appreciate its range of options, I'm having a hard time getting started with it. In particular, I want to make a fairly simple square-gridded dungeon map. I figured out the grid feature, but is there any way to fill grid squares with specific colors or objects directly, or will I have to draw boxes around the target grids? Are there any online suggestions or tutorials available?
