Done in the Monk thread Ranger Reg asked "Has anyone managed to make the paladin less Euro-Medieval"

and I'm wondering if yes in what way - can you give us some examples of how you have reimagined the Paladin without the Divinely-inspired Medieval Chivalrous Knight fluff?

George Lucas did. He just renamed them "jedi" (with "sith" for blackguard and "dark jedi" for antipaladin), and disguised his setting with sci-fi elements to make people forget it's a D&D setting with the classical orcs (stormtroopers), evil sorcerer (Palpatine), ogres (Jabba), dragons (rancor), knights, and princesses.

Samurai?
Van Helsing? He's a Vampire Hunter.. against Evil forces.. who is he? a Paladin! even Blade IMHO..

and.. Buffy.. so.. all the Vamp. Slayers.. are paladins
