Legend
In the first movie, Professor Quirrel (sp?) creates a wall of fire with the snap of his fingers, no wand in sight. I don't recall about the book, though.
Perhaps because he is attuned to his wand? Remember, the wand chose him.Erila of Sune said:Well, not to get too technical:
But in OotP, Harry uses the lumos incantation to light his wand. But the wand is two feet away from his hand at the time. Make of that what you will, but I suspect all it means is Harry is much more powerful, potentially, than the other main characters.

I have no doubt that Harry Potter is powerful. Wand-maker Ollivander did say he is destined to do great things.
I don't understand what you mean. Are you saying you DO want HP wands to be charged items, or you don't? I would think they would be something completely different from a D&D wand.Ranger REG said:And the fact that she's a professor at that Academy means she knows the enchanted staircase intimately.
Just so you know, I want wands to be as different as the D&D versions, which is a charged magic item of one or two spell effects.
I agree completely. In fact, I don't remember seeing any "charged" items in the books so far. Though as we've seen my memory is far from perfectRanger REG said:I mean, "I want wands to be different FROM the D&D version."
