Our DM and PCs currently utilize DMGenie, DM Familiar, Dundjinni. But we are looking for is an application that will allow us to use image files as our battlemap via a projector. Recently, the DM stumbled across klooge.werks and our group is debating whether this app will work for us. Our intention would be to use klooge.werks on a PC and then project an image created with Dundjinni (or another source) onto the table top. Our minis would then be used with this projected image. One nice feature we like about klooge.werks is the 'Fog of War' effect....

So, has anyone used klooge.werks, or can you recommend a similiar product?

Thanks.

that'd be me

I use klooge werks in precisely that manner- I project maps and the players move their icons around or point where they'd like to go with a laser pointer. Fog of war is only the beginning of its usefulness. You can define effects to apply to icons- say haste, for example. Define what it effects (temp modifier to ac, reflex saves, etc) and how long it effects the icon. All the stats are adjusted automatically and when you advance the calendar past the end of the effect, *poof* back to normal.

I've been using the app for a couple years now and can't recommend it highly enough.

Hit me up with any specific questions and I'll do my best to reply- check out the forums on their site if you want to get a more varied range of opinions.

I have just started using it in my campaign. I don't have a projector (yet), but I put a 15" LCD screen on the table in front of me facing the players.

It is only used at the moment to display the maps which I reveal as the players move through the area.

It is a great tool, but I need to work out all the other features to really use it to it's full potential.
