Ummm....anyone know how to retrieve a MS Word document if the program is accidentally shut down without saving?

Search for a temp file in the directory where Word is, but I don't now if you'll find anything.

Hopefully if you've been working on it for more than a little bit, just restarting the program should bring up the (at least partially) recovered document.

If word had a failure, it should have a copy of it auto-saved for such an eventuality. That is only if the program failed though. if you shut down the system it usually is lost forever. Normally You can simply open the word app and you'll see it come up on a pane on the left hand side. There is also the off chance you will have a working copy in the directory the original file was saved. It will look like a word doc, but will be greyed out and have an odd title.
