Has Enworld made you better?

Yes, and I was pretty good to begin with :)

Basically, I've been able to distill advice from folks whose GM'ing style I admire (Piratecat and Colonel Hardisson pop to mind) and compare Setting Creation notes with folks who I think have "it" (SHARK, Warlord Ralts an--yes--Rangerwickett all make this list).

As for my skill as a player, I think I am still somehting of a liability:)

You tell him Nightfall!! YOU are the MASTER of spending way too much time here!! \

Or is that Crothian? ;)

Sadly Crothy doesn't need to spend much more time here. With 40+K postings, no one will ever accuse him of slacking, Tree. But you are right. I do spend MORE time here than the other bottom 5 posters (below me anyway) do. ;)

T-Billy,
So what do I bring to you for your gaming needs? ;)

Shil,

Bah Horce. A Socrates wanna be. :p :)

Aus,

Yes you are and be happy with that. ;)

Yeah ENWORLD has been a great idea generator and inspirational tool for me for a couple of years now. I'm more of a lurker now, but I still come and get ideas from you guys pretty frequently.

Heh. You, sir, are a source of pride. :)

EN World has made me a much better DM.
Also, it's given me some excellent dating advice laughs.

Cheers, -- N

No. I give credit where it's due -- and the credit in this case goes to a small group of individuals (here at ENWorld and elsewhere). The site is great, mind you, but the site didn't give me advice, prompt me to look at new ideas, or introduce me to great new games -- people who post here did that. Here, at ENWorld, I credit Crothian, Turanil, Treebore, Aus Snow, Auld Grump, Diaglo and a few other posters with helping me broaden my horizons as both a Game Master and a gamer in general.

Provisionally Yours ....

Yes, but it will take much more than the world's greatest RPG forum to redeem my depraved soul. :D

At your puny 45 post count, you are hardly the best. :p :)

Nifft,

If it makes you feel any better I consider a Senior EN World Poster. ;)

ENWorld has most certainly improved my skills at being a GM and perhaps made me a better player. But that's small potatoes compared with how much I've benefitted from actually GAMING with fellow ENWorlders.

Between the NC Game Days, GenCon and just gaming at the local store with people I met here, I've become vastly more proficient at running one shot games. And I have come to understand that running one shot games well teaches you a ton about pacing. And pacing is right up there in the top three skills that a good GM needs to have for an ongoing campaign.
