Have you been disillusioned by the latest WotC books?

On the other hand, I still must get a look at d20 Past and d20 Apocalypse, as maybe these books are still worth it...
I'm glad you mentioned these, Turanil - since this is the General RPG board and they are recent WotC releases, this seems like an appropriate place to mention them.

d20 Past was execrable, just embarassingly bad - I won't recount my lengthy posts elsewhere, but I do plan on compiling them into a review at some point, so I will detail the reasons there.

d20 Apocalypse on the other hand was a pleasant surprise - I had no intention of buying this book, as the genre does nothing for me, but it took the toolbox approach and made a book with useful goodies for most Modern GMs. I snapped it up after leafing through it at my FLGS.

As far as D&D books, I haven't looked at any of the three releases that the OP mentions - the last book I bought was Sandstorm and the last book I thumbed through (but didn't, and won't, buy) was Lords of Madness. I'll probably buy Stormwrack when it's released.

Sharn and DMG II were pretty durn good.

I was really impressed by Complete Adventurer. And not so impressed by Complete Warrior and Divine.

Races of Stone really exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately, they set me up for a fall with the next two races books.

Frostburn and Sandstorm were both decent.

Weapons of Legacy and Heroes of Battle didn't impess me enough on a thumbthrough to pick them up. Maybe if they show up on Overstock.

(Waterdeep was pretty decent, though - other than way too many references to non-core, non-FR books, Boyd balanced very well between n00bs and veterans. Generic too player-oriented D&D stuff, though? Forget it.)
Told you it would be! Likewise the orientation of the current non-setting D&D books puts me off.
