I'm wondering how important that "official" tag is. By "third-party" I mean a product written for a game system, but not by the publisher of that game system.

So Pathfinder products not published by Paizo, D&D products not published by WotC -- and so on. Game systems big and small, as long as the product is not produced by the original game's publisher (whether the original publisher is a big corporation or a one-man-PDF-band).

I'm pretty sure the only product I've purchased in the last year has been my DDI subscription. Oh, and some FASA Star Trek. Been pretty slim pickin's at the Storm household.

The last one was just over a year ago. Then again, I haven't bought any products-at least not for D&D-during that time. Nothing left that I need to buy.

Playing 4e here. No, I haven't, but only because I went to a shopping three two years ago. So ye, I love 3rd party stuff and am very willing to buy it.

Yes, but only just - almost exactly 12 months ago I bought an Eberron map from Gale Force 9.

However, with the exception of my ongoing Pathfinder AP subscription, I've bought very little in the last year.

Got myself some nice fantasy map packs from rite publishing and the midgard beastiary for 4e from open design. I think that counts.

Wouldn't the Eberron map count as 2nd Party, as Gale Force 9 products like that are produced under License from Wotc?

And Speaking for myself, I'd say all my physical purchases have been 1st party, I may have picked up a few 3rd party PDF's through
DriveThru. mostly freebies however, to check out different systems.

Nope. The first party are WotC, the people who make the game. The second party in this instance is me - the person who buys the game. A third party, then, is anyone else.
