Have you bought the Deluxe Players Handbook?

I hate to say it, but why the hell would someone buy it? Paying that massive markup for corrections to errors in earlier printings, and some shiny bits on the cover... color me confused as to where the value is here. And I felt the same way about the special edition 3.x PHB with the leather cover. It's a book that's going to get abused through constant use at the table, so why splurge on something like that?

I just can't justify in my mind that sort of pointless expenditure (says the guy who randomly drove one state over to pick up a Mortal Kombat arcade machine he bought on Ebay because it seemed like a good idea at the time - though the coffee can full of old showbiz pizza tokens makes it totally worth it.)

We also know that that in future printings, the non-deluxe versions will include the errata. Which is excellent news. I'm still unclear if WotC will be doing this with any other books, or just the core?

This, I haven't heard. Where did you get that news from?

EDIT: Never mind, found my answer here. I'm pretty excited!

Not really that expensive if you shop around. As my groups regular DM it helps to have spare copies of the core books.

It does include all the errata to date so for me that's a plus. I preferred the normal cover so that's a minus. I doubt I'll make use of the sticky things.

Overall worth the cover price just to have an errata inclusive copy asap.

Exactly. It's simply not worth the high price.

I'll buy a (third ;)) PHB, though, if they make a new print run with the errata incorporated.
