Haven: City of Violence is d20?

The news today lists some info about Haven: City of Violence as d20 System news.

I didn't think Haven was a d20 game. The creator's site doesn't say anywhere that it is (that I could find).

I dunno, it appears to have character creation rules so it could be an OGL game using the d20 rules but not the d20 logo. That's probably the situation.

I guess, but I swear I've seen the author in the RPG.net forums describing it as a point-buy system like HERO or something.

It might have just slipped in through some other means; they're handled by Osseum and almost all the Osseum clients are d20 publishers so it might have something to do with that.

That must be it. I'll remember not to post their new sitems in future - I just assumed that is must be, else why would they send me the info?

Perhaps because ENworld is a large gaming community, not all of whom are one-eyed d20 fans. Or perhaps it might be a product that's useful for the wider gaming community...thus advertising it here could get them for more customers.

Well ... it's a D&D and D20 site. D&D and D20 are basically the newsworthy items here. It's just kinda odd, is all. Now, if they wanted to buy banner ad space, that would be different, eh? :)

Yeah, but it's a flodgate thing. If I let one publisher do it, I should let them all do it. In which case this stops being a D&D/D20 site and turns into a general RPG site - and there are already plenty of General RPG sites which do a fine job (RPG.net, Gaming Report etc.).
