Having multiple familairs???

If I am a Wiz1/Sor1 does this mean I can have 2 familiars? Heck, if I was a Wiz1/Sor1/Psion1 could I have 2 familiars and a Psicrystal? Hehe

That would be cool (edit replace "cool" with "interesting" if need be =) to have a character centered around having "pets". Maybe a new Prc called "Lord of Familiars" or "Master of Pets".

Wiz1/Sor1/Psion1/Druid1/Paladin1
(toss in the Leadership Feat and Alternate Familiar feat, hehe)

would have a:

Wizard Familiar
Sorcerer Familiar
Animal Companion
Paladin Mount
Cohort

My own personal army... Good for solo adventures =)

Interesting.

I dont have my books with me at work. But I cant say there was anything saying you can only have one.

I would not let the Soc and Wiz lvls stack for each one though.

You eather have one Familar with lvls stacking or two without lvls stacking.

Interesting idea though.

Or use the feat that gives an additional familiar (Tome & Blood FIRC). That way a 3rd Level Human Wizard can have 3 familiars all using his own character level for special abilities.

At 6th he can have 3 normal and 1 improved familiar. Sound intresting.

If memory serves it's up to the player and DM and you can either have two familiars or just stack the wiz/sor levelsfor determining familiar abilities.

Don't do it. One familiar is hard enough to keep alive! :p

Funny, I always thought it stacked like uncanny dodge. Impoved familiar, by the way, only works if you are gaining a new familar so it does not grant you an extra one.

Your wizard and sorcerer levels stack. You may not choose to have separate familiars. Check the SRD:
Even if the character is multiclassed with two or more classes that allow a familiar, only one familiar is permitted.

Using that list of spells in the DMG, I created a Witch class whose main powers were A) Potion Brewing at 1st level, and at 1/2 the cost and B) the ability to have multiple familiars (they can add an additional famiar every 5 levels - 5, 10, etc.).

It has the potential to be quite powerful, especially if you allow for augmented and unusual familiars as they get more powerful.
