Having Problems Finishing?

Does this ever happen to you? The group I play with tends to get involved in epic campaigns. My DM is a great world builder who creates some very interesting storylines. Unfortunately, we rarely get to finish them. Something always seems to get in the way. Either we lose members of the group because of work or college schedules or grand scale of the adventure gets so overwheling that the fun is gone. Once we even stopped a great campaign to play "cringe" Shadowrun.

Yes, it happens all too frequently.

Especially in college.

I have in the past yes, but lately I've been lucky.

For the last three face-to-face campaigns I've played in or ran, we've known ahead of time schedules or other events that might cause the campaign to end pre-maturely, so the DM has been able to plan a campaign that fits in that length of time.

As for my PbeM game, well, I'm just hoping the players don't lose interest before I finsih the stroy I want to tell.
