Healing an Elemental

So, how exactly does one go about healing an elemental?

The various cure spells. Elementals are considered living creatures.

true, elementals are living creatures, but you also have to take into account where they get most of their energy from. flame, water, fire and earth elements would go with the cure spells, but shadow and darkness based elementals would probably go with the harm (negative plane of energy) spells.

*just thinking out loud.

What books have shadow and darkness based elementals in them?

no books that i know of. it's just fair sensible that each elemental plane would have a corresponding elemental. ^_^. the plane of darkness would have a darkness based elemental, the plane of shadows probably do, the negative plane of energy probably does and so on. i just dun know where.

Return to the Tomb of Horrors had Negative Plane Elementals. They were not actually "elementals" but were alled that out of convenience. The closest 3.x equivilent would likely be the Xeg-ya and Xeg-yi.
