Helmed Horror

Made its 3e debut in Monsters of Faerun.

Got a very cursory 3.5 update in the Wizards web enhancement for the Players Guide to Faerun.

In the update, the horror is given skills and feats even though it is a mindless construct.

I understand that the horror has been updated yet again in Lost Empires of Faerun. Does it have skills and feats there?

Yep.

Skills: Diplomacy +5, Listen +15, Search +13, Sense Motive +15, Spot +15, Survival +3 (+5 following tracks)

Feats: Great Fortitude, Improved Critical (greatsword), Improved Initiative, Toughness, Weapon Focus (greatsword)

What's the difference between a helmed horror and a "battle horror"?

Battle horrors are essentially more powerful variants of helmed horrors. They have 20 HD and some spell-like abilities.
