Help about unclear psionic powers

First Post
I'm not sure about animal affinity:
1)does this grant you 1d4+1 in any ability, or, as says in the flavor text and in the DnD faq doe you replace your ability score by the animal's one ?
2) If it grant you 1d4+1, is there a cap related to the chosen animal ? by example, I'm not sure if animal affinity will give you 1d4+1 in dex if the animal you choose has dex = 15 and you already have dex =16.
3)Did you choose the animal you emulate when you manifest the power, or is choice a definitiv one ?
4)Are the subtle characteristic you take a permanent feature or do they vanish when the power end ?

Another question about claw of the vampire: did you heal the amount of damage you dealt if you strike an undead creature ? a construct ? an object ? The text says that the power give you 1d8 claw damage and heal you the same amount, so it's not something like vampiric touch or energy drain.

I haven't found any answer in the faq, if someone has one, please post it ! I will soon enter a certain Temple of elemental Bad Things with a psychic warrior...

It grants an enhancement bonus to the chosen attribute of 1d4+1. I think you get some subtle changes in appearance to resemble the affinity to the chosen animal.

Nope.

You choose the animal each time you manifest the power.

4)Are the subtle characteristic you take a permanent feature or do they vanish when the power end ?

They only appear while the power is manifested and vanish, when the duration runs out (power ends).

Don't know that... But I think there was an errata about the Claw of the Vampire power... or I'm just mixing up things! :)

I'd not let the healing portion of the power work off undeads/constructs/etc. intuitively, tho.

Regarding AA:
Bruce Cordell said (it's not official however:
- the reference to animals is just flavor text you could ignore
- it should be an enhancement bonus, not an ability replacement

About CotV:
- I don't know, but you never heal more than 1d8 (no STR bonus...). I'd say ok for undead & constructs, no for objects (I hit the table, the window, the door...)

About your temple adventure:
In the RttToEE, I played a psychic warrior, polymorphed, enlarged, with AA, psychofeedback... but failed every will save (suggestion, confusion)... :(

Thank for the quick answer!

In the latest Faq, they clearly say the bonus is not an enhancement, but replace your attribut, and thus any magical enhancement bonus do stack. That's really confusing, and make this power look very strange (and that's why I was wondering if it worked more like a polymorph spell)

I too think the healing power won't work on undead/construct..., but I'm not sure (already see strange rule...)

So, I think I will listen Mr Cordel rather than the sage. (the other way would have more flavor, but a lot more complex to handle)

I wasn't aware of the no strenght bonus. Damn :p.

My will save is very low, too. I will look for some protection (and hope there are crowd of monster to fight from time to time. Really want to use claws of the vampire + whirlwind attack +improved biofeddback...
