Help designing a lethal healer

Okay, so I think I've settled on Paladin 1/Cleric 5, with the Strength and Sun domain (Mysticism is a prestige domain).

14 Str, 11 Dex, 16 Con, 10 Int, 18 Wis, 16 Cha.

Improved Init, Extend Spell, Craft Magic Arms and Armor, and Close-Quarter fighting.

Longsword, Full-plate, and a shield. Eventually, I'll enchant my armor with Ease :)

So... does that seems pretty good? I'll probably increase my dex at level 8, then focus on wisdom. And, probably Craft Wondrous Item at 9.

Anything really important I'm missing?

Thanks for all the help guys!

I'm not sure if I'd want to fool with any item creation feats unless you're gonna get downtime to be able to make them. There also is a gp and XP cost to making stuff as well.

Never heard of Ease...

Go for straight cleric. Highest stat in wisdom for both # of spells per day and the spell's DC are based off wisdom. Sun Domain works pretty well if you're gonna be facing vampires. That and see if you can aim for a version of the Radiant Servant of Pelor if you're gonna face alot of undead like that. That prestige class is a bane of any undead running around. You could probably rearrange those charisma and strength stats if you're wanting to be a heavy hitter. If you're wanting to use more than a morningstar or mace then you're gonna have to "burn" a feat to learn one martial weapon. But the main thing is whether or not your DM wants your cleric to have to have a deity. That would influence what domains you can actually have, based on that deity.

Which reminds me....... gotta decide on a deity for a cleric I'm starting....... :uhoh:

A straight cleric can be one of the most lethal characters around, at medium to high levels: have a look at what divine favor + divine power + righteous might can do for you. The trick is to get your buffs up in time.

Personally, I get sick of people saying to buff clerics..... Usually you don't have time, nor the spells, to do that. Clerics can kick butt as it is without wasting spells on buffing. They only get so many spells at that level. There's a few offensive spells available to 6th level clerics. Spiritual Weapon is a good one; you cast it, it attacks the next round AND you still get your melee/ranged attacks as well! That'd be TWO attacks for a cleric who would normally only get one attack. If you can get Divine Power (I think this is the one that gives you fighter BAB/etc.. Don't have books handy) up at least, that'd be good. But don't waste too many spells on buffing yourself. Either that or a Bull's Strength, then cap that off with a one round Feat of Strength (Strength domain power).

Righteous Might: too high level for this character. It's like a 5th level spell, I believe. He wouldn't get that until 9th level.

Good choices. Strength and Sun give you good combat abilities. I also especially like the choice of Close Quarters Fighting as one of your feats. It's unusual, but a very strong feat, especially in a small party.
