I've had an idea I've been kicking around for some time, but I'm not sure where to go with it. I'm wondering what some of the rest of you might think.
Somewhere, deep beneath the surface of Toril(or Skarn), four metal locks sit arranged in a chamber. The blocks are covered in various glyphs and strange writings.
Suddenly, the top of each block shifts, and a green mist emerges from the seem. After a moment, the top lifts complely off, only to reveal it's contents. Within each of the encasements, lies a sleeping human (or dwarf or whatever). Suddenly, as one, their eyes flicker open.
These are the PCs. Hidden away in suspended animation for time untold, they have awakened. They have no memory of the time before their slumber, but tnow they go forth to meet the world.
Who are they? Why have they awakened?
I figure this will make for a fun little game. Using this introduction, what can you guys come up with?
EDIT - I'm considering using this as a jumping off point for a Scarred Lands game.
